New technology is quickly changing everything about how the real estate industry works. Thus, it’s more important than ever for professionals to stay on top of these changes. The Harvard Business School Association of Southern California just hosted a fantastic event in Santa Monica. The panelists included industry leaders who shared their thoughts on how AI, blockchain, big data, and other technologies are transforming everything that we know about real estate processes.
Andrew Flachner from RealScout on New Tech
I was especially interested in what Andrew Flachner, the co-founder and president of RealScout, had to say about some of the biggest companies in real estate. Andrew knows his stuff — he was listed on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list and Silicon Valley Business Journal’s top 40 under 40 list. Most importantly, Flachner is heavily involved in changing the real estate industry.
What Problem Does RealScout Solve?
RealScout solves one of the industry’s biggest problems: matching homebuyers with the right homes. RealScout brings homebuyers to a beautiful and modern interface where agents guide them through the home search process with up-to-the-minute MLS data. Even more, RealScout offers agents an alternative to Zillow.
Speaking of Zillow, Andrew mentioned that iBuyer giants like Opendoor and Zillow aren’t necessarily strong due to super advanced technology, even though Opendoor’s home value estimator tools and Zillow’s Zestimate are quite interesting. Andrew said that Opendoor’s and Zillow’s biggest strengths include the large amounts of capital received from venture capitalists.
Indeed, the aforementioned companies have a significant effect on the real estate industry. However, it is likely not due to the newest and most exciting technology.
Chris Pollinger from Berman & Pollinger LLC, Alexandra Tieu from Movoto Real Estate, and Natalia Karayaneva from Propy
Chris Pollinger, a partner at Berman & Pollinger LLC, who has years of experience in real estate business planning and leadership, was the moderator at HBSASC Event. It was a pleasure to observe the flow guided by a true real estate professional with over 25 years of real estate management and executive experience.
Movoto Real Estate
The head broker for Movoto Real Estate in Los Angeles and one of the panelists, Alexandra Tieu, gave her unique perspective on the changes in the industry. Movoto is on the cutting edge of what’s happening in real estate, and Tieu is overseeing the brokerage’s strategic direction as it expands to brick-and-mortar locations. Movoto is really excited about its upcoming work with Propy.
Speaking of Propy, the head of the company, Natalia Karayaneva, also had a chance to speak at HBSASC event. Propy is thrilled to be at the forefront of revolutionary changes in real estate.
