New technology is quickly changing everything about how the real estate industry works. Thus, it\u2019s more important than ever for professionals to stay on top of these changes. The Harvard Business School Association of Southern California just hosted a fantastic event<\/a> in Santa Monica. The panelists included industry leaders who shared their thoughts on how AI, blockchain, big data, and other technologies are transforming everything that we know about real estate processes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Andrew Flachner from RealScout on New Tech<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I was especially interested in what Andrew Flachner<\/a>, the co-founder and president of RealScout, had to say about some of the biggest companies in real estate. Andrew knows his stuff \u2014 he was listed on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list<\/a> and<\/em> Silicon Valley Business Journal\u2019s top 40 under 40 list<\/a>. Most importantly, Flachner is heavily involved in changing the real estate industry.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What Problem Does RealScout Solve?<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

RealScout solves one of the industry’s biggest problems: matching homebuyers with the right homes. RealScout brings homebuyers to a beautiful and modern interface where agents guide them through the home search process with up-to-the-minute MLS data. Even more, RealScout<\/a> offers agents an alternative to Zillow.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Speaking of Zillow, Andrew mentioned that iBuyer giants like Opendoor and Zillow aren\u2019t necessarily strong due to super advanced technology, even though Opendoor\u2019s home value estimator tools and Zillow\u2019s Zestimate are quite interesting. Andrew said that Opendoor’s and Zillow’s biggest strengths include the large amounts of capital received from venture capitalists.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Indeed, the aforementioned companies have a significant effect on the real estate industry. However, it is likely not due to the newest and most exciting technology.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Movoto is on the cutting edge of what\u2019s happening in real estate, and Tieu is overseeing the brokerage\u2019s strategic direction as it expands to brick-and-mortar locations.
